Forces launch search operation Mahipora Kulgam

kulgam March 23 (KNO) : Government forces on Saturday launched Cordon and Search Opration in Mahipora area of South Kashmir’s kulgam district.

Official sources told KNO that on specific inputs about the presence of militants joint team of forces including 9RR CRPF and SOG kulgam launched search operation in the area.

Local sources said that huge contingents of forces have been deployed in the area and door to door search operation is on in the told(KNO)

The Joint Resistance Leadership has called for a complete shutdown on Sunday against the banning of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front under Unlawful Activities Act.

The Jammu and KashmirLiberation Front is led by Yasin Malik whois detained under Public Safety Act Kot Balwal jail in Jammu. Malik is also part of the Joint Resistance Leadership besides, Hurriyat Conference (G)chairperson Syed Ali Geelani and Hurriyat Conference (M) chairperson Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.

Forces launch search operation in Sopore village

Sopore, March 21 :

 Forces on early Thursday launched a cordon and search operation in North Kashmir’s Sopore village.

Reports said heavy forces early this morning laid a siege to Warpora village of Sopore and conducted house to house search operation in the area.

Forces sealed all entry and exit points in the area local said.

A police officer while confirming the search operation to KD said following specific information about the presence of militants in the area, searches launched jointly by Army’s 22 RR, special operation group of police and CRPF.

It is pertinent to mention here that forces and militants on Wednesday evening exchanged fire at Kalantra Kandi Baramulla where operation was later suspended due to darkness.

SSP Baramulla Abdul Qayoom had said that joint team of forces busted a militant hide-out in the area also.(KD)

Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST),

Awantipora has suspended the class work and postponed all examinations scheduled on Wednesday.

A varsity official said that the fresh dates will be notified later.On Tuesday, the class work at IUST remained suspended while exams were also postponed.

The decision to suspend the class work was taken as a precautionary measure to avoid law and order situation, said the official.

JRL calls for shutdown tomorrow against custodial death of Jamaat-e-Islami associate:

Srinagar, March 19  :

Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) has called for a shutdown tomorrow on Wednesday against the custodial death of Jamat-e-Islami associate from Awantipora.

Peetinently ,  Rizwan Ahmad Pandit  son of Asadullah Pandit died in Police custody, days after he was arrested.

According to JRL, a complete shutdown will be observed tomorrow  against the 'custodial killing of Rizwan'.
